Great article! I really want to thank you for this. I found this after doing a Google search:) This very issue came up today at my work (Catholic talk radio) and I was defending St. Joseph's virginity; a co-worker proceeded to deny it and said even the Fathers of the Church proclaimed he was married before and had children. I am not familiar with those writings, but only with private revelations from the Saints, who all say St. Joseph was a virgin and consecrated himself to be one. So, being that I am so dedicated to him, I felt it necessary to defend him; but also felt quite inadequate while doing so since all I used in my defense was private revelation - no match against someone with their Master's in Theology! So thank you for sharing your vast knowledge and I will pass it along!!
